Tray 5 is in. I have started to notice subtle differences. The overlap on my two front teeth has lessened and my bottom eye teeth are starting to straighten. Angie, my Dental Assistant says progress is going well. She showed me a computer simulation of where my teeth were in the beginning and where they are now. I find the first couple days the trays are quite tight but within a couple days they start to fit well, especially if you are using the chews.
Invisalign has taken some getting used too. I’m brushing and flossing a lot more which made a big difference at my cleaning a few weeks ago. I try to wear them the recommended 22 hours a day but it’s not always possible. If you leave your liners out for too long, you’ll find the anchors will chew up the inside of your lips and cheeks. It will definitely cut down on snacking, especially at social functions and holiday celebrations.
My new lips is getting better but I will take my liners out for things like a teleconferences for Skype meetings at work.
I now avoid red wine and colored beverages with my liners in so I don’t stain my teeth or liners. As an FYI, it’s a very good idea to ensure you brush after eating things like curried food. Not brushing stained my liners pretty good. It’s a good thing I get a new pair every two weeks. As for cleaning, my solution has been to soak them in a mixture of clear whitening mouthwash and water at a ratio of 1:1. I soak during mealtimes for half hour or so and it seems to be working pretty well.
It’s also a really good to put your liners away in their case and/or in your purse if you take them out when out and about. I learned this by going out for lunch and leaving them on a napkin when I finished and left. Luckily, they never threw them out, but there was some shock and humor over it.
Only 12 sets of liners to go after this one. Excited for the end result. Thanks Accent Dental.
